Role Overview
UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Billing Representative to work remotely, supporting the billing process by gathering and verifying essential information to ensure accurate billing for clients, patients, and third-party insurances. The role involves handling customer inquiries via phone and correspondence, managing escalated situations, and maintaining detailed records while adhering to established performance standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an office, administrative, clerical, or customer service role using phones and computers.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Windows PC applications and the ability to learn new systems.
- Work Schedule:
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday during scheduled shifts of either 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM PST.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays if needed.
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience in medical coding, call center environments, healthcare/insurance billing, or medical billing offices.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to multitask, demonstrate empathy, resolve issues, and maintain client relationships.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range:
- Hourly wage between $16.54 to $32.55, based on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
- Benefits Package:

- Four weeks of paid on-the-job training, with potential additional training based on business needs.
