Remote Phone and Chat Specialist Job in Mississippi – Join Five Star Call Centers

Looking for a meaningful remote job in customer service? Five Star Call Centers is hiring Phone and Chat Specialists to support frontline healthcare workers by helping nurses connect with hospitals and healthcare facilities in need.

As a Phone and Credential Specialist, you will play an essential role by verifying credentials online and communicating with nurses via phone and chat. You’ll manage inbound and outbound calls, handle multiple chat conversations simultaneously, and ensure timely follow-up with those signing up for shifts.

This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about supporting the healthcare community—all from the comfort of home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound/outbound calls and manage multiple chat channels.
  • Verify healthcare worker credentials using online systems.
  • Communicate credential status via written messages and follow-up phone calls.
  • Access internal systems and resources to resolve inquiries.
  • Perform accurate data entry and navigate online platforms efficiently.
  • Follow company communication scripts and maintain professionalism.
  • Support shift scheduling processes by confirming credential matches.
  • Remain flexible and open to cross-training as needed.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or call center experience.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Fast learner who can work independently in a remote setting.
  • Comfortable with multitasking across systems and platforms.
  • Must type at least 35 WPM accurately.
  • Previous work-from-home experience preferred.
  • A background check will be conducted per state and federal laws.

Hardware/Software Requirements:

  • Intel® Core™ i5 5200 Series or better
  • 8GB RAM minimum (Windows 8.1/10 64-bit)
  • Dual monitors with at least 1280×768 resolution
  • USB headset (no Chromebooks/tablets)
  • Reliable high-speed internet (wired LAN connection required)
  • Up-to-date antivirus software and active firewall

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $14/hour
  • Shift Differential: Additional $1/hour for nights and weekends
  • Performance-Based Raise: Possible after 90 days
  • Hours: Shifts between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST, Mon–Fri + rotating weekends
  • Paid Training: 3 weeks, Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
  • Status: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Equipment Provided: Yes, for full-time permanent employees
  • Work-from-Home: Available in MS and select other states
